SeneGALA 2025
Sustainability in Senegal
We are thrilled to invite you to our 2025 SeneGALA at the Larchmont Yacht Club on Sunday June 8, 2025 starting at 5:30PM.
The theme of the 2025 SeneGALA is Sustainability in Senegal. This is part of our goal to make sure our work in Lambaye lasts for years to come. This involves installing solar panels at the learning center and a solar powered clean water well, establishing long term funding for annual job training and education programs and upgrading the technology infrastructure to allow for more computer coding and web design courses.
At the gala there will be music, dancing, dinner, silent and live auctions and presentations from the students and organization leaders about our work in Senegal. Join us for a wonderful night supporting a great cause!
Note: we use Zeffy for our event management which is a free online service, it will ask you for a donation to their service which is 100% optional, just select “custom” and then enter $0 if you do not wish to donate.
We want to make sure the gala is accessible to all club members. Please contact us if you would like to request a discounted ticket, it is really important to us that all club members and families are able to attend!
Buy Gala Tickets Here
When you purchase tickets, there are two ticket prices. The ticket prices are $150 for adult community members (including parents of club members) which includes two drink tickets. For MHS student club members and/or their siblings, the price is $100. These prices will increase one week before the gala, so buy early to save!
Making It Last
Solar power at the Lambaye Learning Center will provide sustainable electricity to support the centers operations for years to come
Why Solar? Why Now?
Solar power will significant enhance the learning center and has always been a part of our long term strategy. For a fixed up-front install we can provide sustainable power and sell back to the grid in order to generate long term revenue for the center. In addition, power in Senegal often shuts off during peak demand times and insulating the center from this will allow more usage during these outages, increasing the center’s impact.

Expanding Access To Job Training Programs
Empowering Communities through Skill Development
At Students for Senegal, we believe that sustainable development begins with education and skill acquisition. Our job training programs are designed to equip individuals with practical skills that enhance their employability and empower them to contribute to their communities. Sustainable Farming Practices

Agriculture Training Program
Agriculture is the main source of employment for people in rural Senegal. Often, young men leave the countryside and migrate to the city in search of work so older individuals and women often are working in farms.
The Agriculture Training Program is designed to promote sustainable farming practices and improve food security within the community. Participants receive instruction on modern agricultural techniques, crop management, and livestock care. This program emphasizes environmentally friendly practices and the efficient use of resources to ensure long-term agricultural productivity.
